Creative Science Education
Interactive Panels about Wild Bees
This project combines scientific illustration, educational design, and interactive learning to communicate the fascinating diversity of wild bees.
I designed a series of interactive panels that encourage visitors to explore key aspects of wild bee biology through observation, play, and discovery. The activities introduce topics such as species diversity, nesting habitats, flower specialization, and pollination, transforming scientific information into engaging hands-on experiences.
To extend the exhibition beyond the educational garden, I recreated several of the physical interactions as a web experience. Click in the button to explore the interactive activities and discover how educational exhibits can be translated into a digital format.
Comic
Buzzing about. The Journey of a Wild Bee in Search of a Nest
Buzzing About is an educational comic that follows Alfalfa, a young wild leafcutter bee, on her journey to find a suitable nesting site in an urban environment. The comic introduces young readers as well as adults to the diversity and needs of wild bees, their relationships with flowers, and the challenges they face in urban landscapes. Along the way, Alfalfa meets various insect species, learns about suitable habitats, and discovers the importance of biodiversity-friendly gardening. This comic aims to inspire greater awareness and action for pollinator conservation.

Board Game The Bee Effect
A Board Game About Urban Gardening
The Bee Effect is a family-friendly board game, currently in prototype phase, where players take on the role of urban gardeners working together in a shared city. Each player develops their own garden by planting flowers, growing crops, and attracting insects, while also participating in actions to green the city’s spaces.
This game was created in collaboration with the Urban Productive Ecosystems Group and the Plant-Insect Interaction Group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Its goal is to raise awareness about the importance of urban ecosystems and community collaboration.
