Hello! My name is Valentina.

I am an natural science illustrator and visual communicator based in Munich, Germany. My work focuses on natural and environmental sciences, driven by a desire to bring people closer to nature and communicate its value through illustration. I aim to make science more accessible and to inspire curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

I have collaborated with a variety of organizations, including universities, research institutes, NGOs, museums, and private companies. Notable partners include the Technical University of Munich, the German Ecological Society (GfÖ), the Thünen Institute of Climate-Smart Agriculture, the Königsbrunn Museum, Green City e.V., the Ecological Education Center Munich (Ökologisches Bildungszentrum München), EUROFUNG, and Leafact.

Getting to this point has been part of a long journey of experiences that professionally began more than ten years ago. In Chile I specialized in the area of public and social innovation using design thinking methodologies. I worked as a project leader and consultant, managing collaborative networks and training people. After reflecting on my future path, I then decided to focus on the environmental and nature protection area. I had the opportunity to work for the COP25 and on climate action projects. I discovered my passion for visual arts, and with that I began to explore different traditional and digital media to illustrate nature and communicate its importance.

In 2023, I earned my Master of Science in Sustainable Resource Management from the Technical University of Munich. My thesis, which focused on optimizing interpretive signage to support the protection of endangered species in the Ammergauer Alps Nature Park (Germany), was recognized with the SRM Award by the Audi Environmental Foundation for the best thesis of the year.

I will be very happy to get in touch with you, help you with your projects, or simply answer any questions you may have. You can send me an email to contact@valentina-arros.com

I look forward to hearing from you!
